British hotelier Alfie Bubbles has opened a real-life Yellow Submarine in Liverpool’s Albert Dock. The 80-foot submarine has been retrofitted to match the Beatles’ 1966 ‘Yellow Submarine’ album cover. For Fab Four fans the submarine offers three guest rooms, all decorated with a 1960’s psychedelic feel. The floating “moat-tel” has already been completely booked by Beatlemaniacs from around the world through next year. No worries though- Bubbles also offers a similar stay just across the harbor with ‘The Joker’, a Batman themed boat and has plans to develop accommodations based on Titanic, Pirates of the Caribbean and more.
Room for art? The Clarion Hotel in Stockholm is accepting art as payment for staying in its rooms. Inspired by the Chelsea Hotel in NYC, the hotel aims to be a haven for young, upcoming artists as well as well-established artists.
