As you get back into your routines from the holiday break, we here at Red Peak just want to remind everyone to stay safe on their commutes with a short video made by the Melbourne Metro.
The animation is wonderful and the tunes are beyond catchy- we present “Dumb Ways to Die”. The campaign also features an interactive website here
Red Peak kicked off the CMJ Music Festival in NYC last night with an intimate set by Death Cab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard. It was an amazing show at HiFi bar and a definite New York moment.
Take a peek at what you missed with video shot by our very own Nate Dwyer. CMJ runs through October 20th in venues all over NYC- check out the schedule here.

Justin Timberlake and the Myspace team are giving the public a sneak peek at the upcoming site redesign.
After past failures to rediscover the magic of its 2006 heyday, Myspace may have finally turned itself around by focusing more tightly on music and utilizing a seamless dashboard design similar to Pinterest and tumblr. The “new” Myspace is tightly integrated with Facebook, Twitter, and Vimeo for ease of sharing and has been positioned as the new (old) home for all media.
While the release video distances itself greatly from the creepy internet graveyard that many felt Myspace had become, it still remains to be seen if the once dominant site can truly resurrect itself.

A major improvement on Pandora, we’ve been using Songza all week – finally a platform that helps you choose music based on your mood, unrestrictive of genre. Users are given different scenarios they’re in (“dinner party” or “working/studying”) then choose from a series of playlists created by “music and dance experts”. You’ll love it!

Breaking the open availability model, ‘Pass It On’ by Adam Tensta can only be heard by one person at a time through the musician’s Facebook page.
The rapper’s single requires fans to visit his Facebook page and install the passiton app, after which they will be placed in a queue. A message is then sent to the email address linked to the user’s Facebook account when it is their turn to listen to the track, which must be done within one hour of receiving the email. The concept seeks to bring a unique experience to the listener through the exclusivity of being the onlyperson in the world listening to the song at that moment, as well as attempting to recreate the feeling of passing on a physical record. The app allows users to see where in the world the song is currently being played, along with previous locations, and an infographic shows how far it has spread across the globe.
How else could digital products be given a novel twist by taking inspiration from their physical equivalents?
